About
Strange Company Productions is an award-winning Vancouver-based production company, championing female and under-represented voices. Led by Lucy McNulty, we specialize in hands-on creative development and production of character-driven scripted film and television with global impact.
Lucy McNulty is a Canadian multi-hyphenate whose notable achievements include winning Jury’s Choice and the DEAI Award for Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Inclusion at the Thomas Edison Film Festival for her debut short film CHICKEN which has screened internationally in Canada, the United States, Europe, Australia and the UK, has gained attention from nationally recognized non-profits including the Down Syndrome Resource Foundation and the Canadian Down Syndrome Society, winning a Leo Award, Best Overall Film at the Women’s Comedy Film Festival in Atlanta and Best Performance at Oska Bright in the UK. It has been featured on 3.21: Canada’s Down Syndrome Magazine, The LowDOWN: A Down Syndrome Podcast, the CTV Morning Show, AMI’s Season 2 of DisRUPT, and the World Down Syndrome Congress in Australia.
Lucy currently sits as the President of Wet Ink Collective - a writer-driven initiative for women to write, develop and produce stories for stage and screen. She is a graduate of Studio 58’s acting conservatory, the recipient of the Sydney J Risk Foundation Acting Award and a two-time Leo Award Nominee. Lucy is a 2024 Producers’ Lab resident of the Canadian Film Centre’s Norman Jewison Film Program and a co-founder of DropShock Pictures with whom she produced Markian Tarasiuk’s Hunting Matthew Nichols.
